  • District 1 Accomplishments 2007

    • Held Quarterly Community Meetings
    • Launched the 20/20 Initiative to end violence in Pasadena and Altadena
    • Created a district wide lottery for Rose Bowl and Rose Parade tickets
    • Created an Annual Disaster Preparedness Training (PERT)
    • Free Tax Assistance Day serving seniors and low income residents

    • 20/20 Initiative: created Apprenticeship Preparation Program, Intervention/Prevention Institute, and supported funding the NOW program
    • Continued district wide lottery for Rose Bowl and Rose Parade tickets
    • Annual Disaster Preparedness Training (PERT)-over 100 residents trained
    • Free Tax Assistance Day serving seniors and low income residents
    • Free Spay and Neuter Day for dogs
    • Implemented District 1 Internship

    • Linked Pasadena nonprofits with Rose Bowl event fundraising opportunities by hosting meeting with Concessionaire

    • 2010 Census “March to the Mailbox” Day
    • Continued Internship for District 1
    • Enacted plans for two Community Gardens
    • Teen Center Grand Opening
    • Completed draft of Lincoln Avenue Specific Plan
    • Neighborhood Clean Up Day along Lincoln Avenue
    • Created Volunteer in Pasadena (VIP) Program

     

    DISTRICT 1 ACCOMPLISHMENTS 2011

    • 2011 Harambee Community Garden opens in District
    • PERT Training Held Cleveland Elementary 100 people attended. Free backpacks with emergency equipment given out

    • 2012 Numerous community events are held at the Harambee Community Garden
    • Continued Community Meetings in specific neighborhoods
    • Internship Program Continues;

     

    DISTRICT 1 ACCOMPLISHMENTS 2013

    • 2013 Council Approval of the Lincoln Ave. Specific Plan
    • Cleveland Elementary School (Palisade Street) received traffic calming measures to increase safety at pick-up and drop of times for children.
    • At Vice Mayor Robinson’s urging the multipurpose field intended for Hahamongna Watershed sto John Muir High School 2 million dollars is allocated for the new field.
    • Community Meetings held to hold “nuisance neighbors responsible for properties. Home onWashington Blvd. is renovated.

     

    DISTRICT 1 ACCOMPLISHMENTS 2014

    • 2014 Liquor Store under new ownership plans are in process for townhomes
    • 2014 A new eatery opened on Lincoln called “Lincoln”
