I am launching a new volunteer program for District 1!
Volunteer in Pasadena (VIP)
Have you ever wanted to volunteer in your neighborhood but didn’t know how to get started?
This is your opportunity to help strengthen our neighborhood.
Thank you for your interest in the VIP Program. The program is on hiatus and will resume January 2012. In the meantime you can complete the online application and view the schedule of upcoming events. Someone from my office will contact you early 2012.
Steps you need to take:
- Complete the online registration form.
- Download and sign the General Release and Liability form. Bring it to the VIP Orientation in January (information on the orientation will be sent to you in early January). Click here to download the release.
- Attend the VIP Orientation (DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN EARLY JANUARY).
- View volunteer events ( EXACT EVENT DATES HAVE NOT BEEN DETERMINED FOR ALL EVENTS).
THE FIRST 100 VOLUNTEERS WILL RECEIVE THEIR VIP T-SHIRT FREE!

Big Mama’s Rib Shack 1453 N. Lake Ave. Pasadena 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Celebrate the New Year with your neighbors at Big Mamma’s Rib Shack! You may RSVP in January (first come first serve). A postcard will be sent to all District 1 residents the first week of January. Volunteers needed at the restaurant for decorating, setup, and breakdown. Number of volunteers needed 4-6.
La Pintoresca Library 1355 N. Raymond Avenue Pasadena CA 91103
Free tax assistance for seniors and low income residents will be provided. Volunteers are needed that day from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to help with registration. You may volunteer for the morning 9-12 noon or 12-4:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided for volunteers and staff. Number of volunteers needed 4-6.
Pasadena Emergency Response Training is open to all Pasadena residents 12 and over. Training is from 8:00 a.m. to 120 p.m. Volunteers will help register participants (volunteers can not take the training). Location will be announced at a later date. Volunteers need to arrive by 7:00 a.m. to assist with registration and breakfast set up. Volunteers will also help coordinate the day’s activities. Complimentary breakfast will be provided to volunteers. Number of volunteers needed 12-15.
Saturday, May 26, 2012 Central Park 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Music, food and fun for the whole family. Jazz, Gospel, Latin, and R&B. Foods from around the world. Tickets go on sale in March. Volunteers may be needed.

Junior high and high students will receive disaster training. Registration will begin July 2012.

REMEMBER ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST ATTEND A MANDITORY ORIENTATION BEFORE THE EVENT THEY ARE VOLUNTTERING FOR. THE NEXT ORIENTATION IS:
