PASADENA NAMED ONE OF THE TOP 100 PLACES TO LIVE IN THE U.S.

Pasadena, Ca.- Following a months-long study of more than 1,700 U.S. cities, Pasadena was named one of the top 100 places to live in the U.S. by Livability.com and Richard Florida’s Martin Prosperity Institute.  The survey ranked Pasadena #20 amongst small and mid-sized cities for the quality of life amenities making it a more than desirable city to live, work and play.

A city rich with amenities of local, national and international stature, the Pasadena community is just the right size for businesses to grow their companies and employees to call it home.   “I started my business in Pasadena because it has the talent, City Hall support, restaurants and transportation links that make it truly livable every day,” says Matthew Goldman, Founder & CEO of Wallaby Financial. “ The two-and-a-half mile commute from a leafy quiet neighborhood to a bustling Old Pasadena business district doesn't hurt one bit."

Home to Caltech, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Art Center College of Design and the Kaiser Permanente Campus, Pasadena’s major industries include higher education, health care, engineering and technology.  Innovate Pasadena, a non-profit formed to bolster the city’s tech and design cluster for sustainable economic growth, is actively driving innovation, new business creation and job growth in these sectors.

Eric Duyshart, Economic Development Manager for the City of Pasadena, notes that Pasadena is at the top of the Livability.com list for Southern California cities.  “Pasadena ranked high for education and amenities.  The brightest minds in science, technology and design are changing the world, right here in Pasadena.”
