More Pasadenans are unemployed or underemployed as we enter another holiday season.
City of Pasadena employees and the community are being asked to hep provide them with food as the weather gets colder and we move toward Thanksgiving.
City Hall Gives is a month-long canned food drive to benefit two local food banks helping families by putting together Thanksgiving food packages. The drive is being promoted by the office of City Councilwoman Jacque Robinson.
Collection points for donations from city employees are at the Public Works Department, Human Resources Department and Finance Department at Pasadena City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave.; the Police Department at 207 N. Garfield Ave.; and the Department of Information Technology at 117 E. Colorado Blvd., third floor.
“We have approximately 2,000 employees,” said Robinson. “If each person can give just one can of food, it will go a long way toward feeding hungry families.”
The community is invited to participate as well and may leave canned food donations in the lobby at the Police Department.
Donated food will be distributed by Harambee Christian Family Center and Friends in Deed.
