City Leaders Will Help Ring in the Holidays as Salvation Army Red Kettle Volunteers
The next time you drop some money into a Salvation Army Red Kettle, take a look at the bell ringer: It may well be one of your city leaders.

To start this year’s Salvation Army Red Kettle effort, Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard, City Manager Michael Beck, Chief of Police Phillip Sanchez and Acting Fire Chief Calvin Wells will have a ring-off – a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money to help Pasadena’s needy residents.

The kick-off is set for Saturday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Paseo Colorado, 280 E. Colorado Blvd. Pasadena officials will be bell-ringing from noon to 1 p.m.

The seasonal fundraising effort also will feature several other Pasadena teams, including service clubs, churches and 2012 Rose Queen Drew Washington and her court.

Pasadenans are invited to show their support for their favorite city officials as well as the Salvation Army’s local efforts to feed hungry and homeless residents. All funds raised in Pasadena will stay in this community.

For more information contact Major Darren Norton of the Salvation Army Pasadena Tabernacle at (626) 660-9141.
