“Americafest 2012” is the 86th Annual 4th of July Celebration at the Rose Bowl.  This year’s event, presented by Honda, honors all U.S. veterans, especially the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).  Active service military and their immediate families will be admitted free of charge.

A variety of food vendors, entertainment, crafts, exhibits and inflatable rides for the kids will be outside the stadium in Area H at about 2 p.m.   Food will also be sale inside the stadium.  No outside food or drinks are allowed into the stadium.  Families may picnic or “tailgate” on the grassy area outside the Rose Bowl.  Stadium gates open for seating by 6:30 p.m. with formal opening ceremonies at 7:15 p.m. with the Presentation of Colors and the National Anthem.

The celebration concludes with the biggest Fourth of July fireworks show in Southern California beginning at 9:05 p.m.  Tickets cost $13 per person; children 7 and under admitted free with paid adult.  Vehicle parking is $20.  Go to www.rosebowlstadium.com/RoseBowl_Americafest.php for more info.

All motorists and residents are urged to use extra caution in the Rose Bowl area due to the anticipated crowds.
