City staff and the General Plan Update Advisory Committee (GPUAC) carefully organized all the common themes identified from the outreach activities in 2009 and created the Outreach Summary Report. The report summarizes all the feedback received at stakeholder interviews, MoveAbout tour booklets, community organization workshops, community-wide meetings, district meetings and the open house – literally thousands of comments! The report is organized into key themes that can be addressed in the General Plan Update, as well as a technical appendix that includes full documentation of all comments heard from the community. Comments related to density, design and traffic presented some of the more significant tensions that will need to be addressed as the update moves forward. A draft of the report and appendix was presented to the City Council on March 8, 2010 and was circulated for public comment to all commissions and the community. The GPUAC also held a special public hearing on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. The final report was approved by the City Council on May 17, 2010. Since its completion, the summary report has provided input, direction and a framework for updating the General Plan.
