Whether you’re in the market for an electric vehicle or just browsing, check out PWP’s new webpage with home EV charging requirements. While most standard EVs allow you to charge with a typical 120-volt outlet, many owners of new EVs opt for a 240-volt charger upgrade offered by manufacturers and/or vendors for faster charging. If you don’t already have a 240-volt outlet in your garage, you’ll need to get a licensed electrician to install one, and in some cases you may need an electrical service upgrade from PWP. If you plan to stick with a 120-volt outlet, PWP has tips for avoiding a circuit overload. Visit www.cityofpasadena.net/waterandpower/ev for details.
