Ladies and gentlemen, start your batteries! Get ready for the electric vehicle revolution that’s sweeping Southern California by attending a demonstration fair and workshop on Saturday, March 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Pasadena City Hall. Local plug-in vehicle owners will park their fleet out front and answer questions about driving gas-free. A Nissan LEAF, Toyota Plug-In Prius and Mitsubishi i-MiEV will be available for test drives.
The California Center for Sustainable Energy will discuss the cost-saving and environmental benefits of plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) ownership, advancements in PEV technology and options for vehicle charging at home and on the road. You’ll also hear about electric vehicle incentives such as the $2,500 rebate from California’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Project.
Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) and the Department of Transportation are ramping up efforts to retrofit the older-model charging stations already in town and will soon install even more stations. Find a list of locations to plug in at www.PWPweb.com/EV.
The PEV Fair and Workshop is free and open to the public, and lunch will be provided for all who register at www.energycenter.org/cvrp-events
