Planning Department

  • Rose Parade Grandstands

No person shall erect, construct or use any grandstand, television or radio stand without first having applied for and obtained a grandstand permit. (In this case, "Grandstand" includes a stand, box, bench, or other device which is designed or used for seating any person viewing the Rose Parade.)

In order to obtain a permit to erect a grandstand, two complete sets of plans and specifications are required, showing the full construction and the types of materials to be used, and computations pertaining to the structural design thereof. These plans and computations must be prepared by a licensed architect or civil or structural engineer. For time limits on erection and removal of grandstands, construction requirements, sanitary facilities, and other regulations, refer to the Pasadena Municipal Code (PMC), Title 3, Chapter 12.
