    Historic Preservation Documents and Applications
    Document Description
    Historic Preservation brochure  This brochure has general information about the city’s historic preservation program including types of official historic designation, a map of historic and landmark districts, processes for designating historic resources and for reviewing demolition of and alterations to historic resources, and incentives that apply to designated historic resources.
    Master Application form  Complete this application form for all applications including: The underlined applications above also require submittal of a supplemental application form - click on the name of the application to download the supplemental application.
    Certificate of Appropriateness review packet  This packet has detailed information about the process for applications for Certificate of Appropriateness, including application submittal requirements.   
    Design Guidelines for Historic Districts  Applications for Certificate of Appropriateness affecting properties in landmark & historic districts are evaluated using these guidelines, which are based on the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation. 
    Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation & Illustrated Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings  All applications for Certificate of Appropriateness are evaluated using these guidelines and standards.  Properties in landmark & historic district are also evaluated using the city's Design Guidelines for Historic Districts.
    Illustrated Guidelines on Sustainability for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings   New guidance from the National Park Service about improving the sustainability of historic buildings.
    Appeal Application  Complete this application to appeal a decision made by city staff or the Historic Preservation Commission to a higher authority
    Historic Property Contract/Mills Act guidelines and application   This packet has the guidelines and application forms for the city’s property tax reduction program for designated historic properties (commonly known as the Mills Act).
