    Mission Statement

    The Pasadena Department of Public Works preserves, maintains, and enhances the City’s infrastructure and natural resources and provides environmental stewardship for the benefit of our residents, businesses, and visitors.

  • Animal License Information

    On July 1, 2013, the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA (PHS) became responsible for licensing Pasadena’s dogs.  To obtain a license, dog owners must bring their dog’s license application and rabies certificate directly to PHS, 361 South Raymond Ave., Pasadena, CA 91105.  The agency is open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, and is closed on Mondays.

    Beginning July 1, 2015, annual dog license fees will change to $16.16 for spayed/neutered dogs and $76.16 for unaltered dogs.

  • HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE (HHW) ROUNDUP EVENT

    Upcoming Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Roundup events is scheduled for June 18, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Rose Bowl Stadium - Parking Lot I
    Note: There will be no document shredding at this event.

    Some examples of what you CAN bring to a HHW collection:
    • Motor oil, oil filters, brake fluid
    • Used antifreeze
    • Paint, paint thinner, turpentine
    • Cleaners with acid or lye
    • Pesticides or herbicides
    • Household batteries or car batteries
    • Pool chemicals
    • CRTs, old TVs, misc. electronics
    • Mercury thermometers or thermostats
    • Fluorescent light bulbs
    • Used needles or sharps (In a Sharps container or sturdy box labeled "SHARPS")
    • Unwanted or expired prescriptions 

     What you CANNOT bring to a HHW collection:
    • Explosives
    • Ammunition
    • Radioactive materials
    • Trash
    • Tires
    • Business waste
    • White goods (stoves, fridges, etc.)
    • Controlled substances
    • Biohazardous waste (blood, urine, etc.)

    NOTE: Any electronic waste collected at these events is sent to a facility within the State of California that certifies that it is 100 percent de-manufactured and recycled to the commodity level in the United States. No electronic waste collected at these events is sent overseas.

    NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION
    (C&D) PROJECTS

    Effective April 1, 2014, the Construction and Demolition Waste Management Ordinance (PMC Chapter 8.62) requires that certain construction and demolition projects divert at least 75% of waste either through recycling, salvage or deconstruction.

    The construction and demolition application must be approved prior to hauling any C&D debris. Failure to submit this application for approval and to comply with any provision of the C&D Waste Management Ordinance may result in forfeiture of the performance security deposit
