    Energy Efficiency Programs and Rebates

    SoCal Gas Company Rebates   

    Energy Upgrade California - Pasadena Water & Power is not a participant in this program, but you may still qualify for program funds through LA County or the Southern California Gas Company. 


    Water Efficiency Rebates and Programs

    From Pasadena Water & Power:

                Laundry-to-Landscape (L2L) Greywater Program 
                    - $80 voucher towards the cost of the greywater system. 
                    - Direct install of L2L greywater systems for income qualified customers

    From Pasadena Water & Power and Metropolitan Water District:

     SoCal WaterSmart's Turf Removal Program  - Due to the immense popularity of the turf removal rebate, MWD’s funds for this program have been exhausted and the turf removal incentive is no longer available.  

    From Pasadena Water & Power and SoCal Water$mart*:

     Rain Barrel Rebates - maximum of 2 rain barrels per home. Rebate amount is $100 per rain barrel 

    Soil Moisture Sensor System - $250 or $50 per irrigation sensor for large residential sites  

    Premium High Efficiency Toilets  - $100 

    High Efficiency Clothes Washer -  $300  

    Rotating Nozzles for Pop-up Spray Heads Retrofits - $7 per nozzle (minimum of 30 per home) 

    Weather-Based Irrigation Controller - $250, under 1 acre or $50 per station, 1 acre or more 

    Cisterns over 200 gallons - $500 

    *The SoCal Water$mart rebates listed above are special rates for PWP customers only, made possible by through The Metropolitan Water District's SoCal Water$mart Program and matching funds from PWP. Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may require a rebate reservation or other pre-requisites. Click through to learn more about rules specific to each product.      Residential Financial Assistance

     Financial Assistance Programs - We Can Help!

    • Utility Bill Assistance Programs: Recognizing that some of our customers may need help to pay their utility bills, we offer three income-qualified financial assistance programs and one program designed to offset the energy costs associated with home medical equipment.
    • Project APPLE: For customers experiencing a financial emergency and electric service shut-off, you may be eligible for a $100 grant to help keep your lights on.

    PWP offers a range of water and energy saving programs and information for our for our customers that own or manage multifamily properties.

    Energy Programs and Rebates

    • New! On-Demand Efficiency Program: Save energy with an on-demand recirculation control for multifamily building water heating loop systems installed at NO COST to qualifying SoCalGas® and PWP customers. Buildings must have central gas water heating systems and at least six apartment units.
    • Energy Efficiency Partnering Program (EEP): A flexible rebate program that rewards a broad range of efficiency retrofits
    • Pasadena Express Efficiency Rebate Program (PEER): A simplified rebate program, PWP will provide you with a set dollar amount for replacement of equipment. Eligible equipment includes: variable speed pool pumps, efficient HVAC, Energy Star refrigerators, clothes washers, and more.

    MWD's SoCal Water$mart  Program* -  

    PWP offers a number of rebates on water-efficient devices in partnership with the Metropolitan Water District's " SoCal Water$mart."  

    Premium High Efficiency Toilets >>> $100

    Increased! Zero & Ultra-low Water Urinals (ZWU -ULFU)  ≤ 0.25 gpf >>> $300 

    Increased! High Efficiency Clothes Washer (Available only for in-unit washers. Clothes washers used in common area laundry facilities do not qualify. Multi-family properties with 2-4 units are considered residential.) >>> $300 

    Increased! Weather-Based Irrigation Controller >>> $50/station

    Increased! Rotating Nozzles for Pop-up Spray Heads Retrofits >>> $7/nozzle (minimum of 30 per site)

    • Shade Trees Rebate: PWP offers rebates for planting any one of 37 species of shade trees 
    • Green Power Program: Reduce your companies' carbon footprint by signing up for 100% renewable power from PWP
    • Electric Vehicle (EV) Program: Reduce fuel costs and emissions by switching to plug-in electric vehicles

  • Clean Energy Programs

    • Pasadena Solar Initiative: Rebates are available for installing solar photovoltaic systems on your property.
    • Green Power Program: Reduce your building’s carbon footprint by signing up for 100% renewable power from PWP.
    • Electric Vehicle (EV) Program: Reduce fuel costs and emissions and also earn incentives from PWP by installing Level 2 electric vehicle chargers at your multifamily property.

    Financing Your Water and Energy Savings

    • Clean Energy Finance Guide: PWP is pleased to offer a comprehensive financing guide to help our customers find financing options to complete their efficiency upgrades and solar projects.
    • The LA County PACE program is now available to PWP’s residential and business customers! The LA County Residential Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program allows property owners to install energy efficiency, renewable energy and water-saving improvements to their properties without putting any money down. Loan payments are assessed on property tax bills
